EasyPhone allows you to make calls to any phone or mobile in the world. You can also call to other PC’s having EasyPhone installed.
2. Will I be disconnected from the Internet once I make the call?
To make calls from your PC, you have to be connected to the Internet throughout the call. Thus, you will not be disconnected from the Internet when making a call.
3. Can I receive incoming calls when I am using EasyPhone?
Yes, you can receive calls, but only if your computer is turned on and the person calling you are using EasyPhone thru his/her PC, or you have subscribed to your personal telephone number.
4. What operating system do I need in my PC?
EasyPhone can be installed on Windows 2000, SE, 2003, ME, and XP. EasyPhone recommends using Windows 2000 or XP for best audio performance.
5. What are the minimum software and hardware requirements for EasyPhone?
MS Windows 2000/2003/XP
CPU: 350MHz & above
RAM: Above 64MB (128MB recommended)
40Mb Free Hard Disk (space)

USB Phone or/ Headset (microphone and headphones) or separate Microphone and Headphones (earphone microphone should be USB 1.1)
An Internet connection (56K dial-up, ADSL or better)
20K bandwidth
6. How can I check if my computer has the minimum software and hardware requirements?
You can check your software and hardware status by clicking START on the toolbar at the lower-left of your computer monitor. Click Program, then Accessories. Under Accessories, click System Tools, and then System Information. System Information contains all the information you need to know about your PC.
7. Do I need any special software or hardware to be able to use EasyPhone?
No. But to eliminate echo and improve the quality of your calls, you should use the EasyPhone handset for best sound quality.
8. Does my computer need additional memory?
No, as long as you have the minimum requirement of 64MB. If you want better performance, we recommend that you add memory on to your PC to give you 128MB.
9. Why does my computer lock-up or freeze when I'm using EasyPhone? What should I do?
The possible reasons why your computer does not respond, locks up or freezes while running EasyPhone are: low memory, incorrect installation, or corrupted installer. What you can do first is close all running programs and then reinstall the EasyPhone software. If, after reinstalling the software, your computer still does not respond, locks up or freezes when running EasyPhone, the problem might be caused by low memory. Upgrading your system or adding memory to your computer may solve this problem.
10. Do I need to change telephone carriers or my Internet Service Provider (ISP)?
No. There is no need to change your telephone carrier or your ISP in order to use EasyPhone. All you have to do is set up an account and make sure that the ISP you are using is not behind a firewall or is using a proxy server. If unsure, call your ISP.
11. Are my calls secure?
All calls are as secure as the calls you make from your home phone or through a landline.
12. My Internet access is through a 56kbps dialup line. Will this work?
Running EasyPhone under Windows XP will usually achieve acceptable results when the Internet is accessed over a dialup (telephone) line. Actual performance may depend on your PC's configuration, the level of Internet congestion, and the quality of service provided by your ISP. Earlier versions of Windows may require you to update and obtain the most recent Service Packs for your operating system.
13. Can I use EasyPhone with other programs thru a dialup line? What are these other programs, aside from Windows XP?
Yes. Other programs where you can run EasyPhone include Windows 2000, 2003, and ME. EasyPhone cannot run on Windows 95 & NT.
14. When I tried to call, a voice message says, "This number is not online. Please try your call later".
The called party might be busy.
The Phone/PC of the called party is turned off.
Check the settings of the dialing plan for the international call access prefix from the phone dialer.
15. How can I check the dialing plan? Where can I find it?
On the EasyPhone dialer program, click Settings (wrench tool icon).
16. I can't make a call. An error message appears.
Check the settings on the EasyPhone dialer. Make sure you supplied the correct login Account Number and Password.
17. How do I get the phone numbers of people I want to call? Is there a phone book where I can look up their numbers?
There is no General Directory for EasyPhone users. Right now, what you can do is store the numbers of people you may want to call in the phonebook on the phone dialer for your convenience, or you can also open your call history to check phone numbers of people you have called or want to call again.
18. Is there a phone book directory where I can save the numbers of the people who I call so that next time, it would be a lot easier for me to call them?
Yes there is. On the phone dialer, click the phonebook icon. Double click the phonebook. Here you can add the numbers that you call. And from the phone book, you can dial the number of the person you wish to call for more convenience.
19. I've read all the FAQs but I still can't get EasyPhone to work for me. What should I do?
You can contact our support department via E-mail or Live chat.

Under Settings, click Control Panel.
On the Control Panel menu, look for the Sound and Audio Devices icon and double click.
Under the Voice tab, click Test Hardware.
For Windows 2000 users:

Click Accessories, and then click Entertainment.
Open the Sound Recorder and click the red dot. This should turn the sound recorder on, which means that your sound card is functioning properly.
22. How do I optimize my audio?
Use the EasyPhone handset.
Close all other audio applications while using EasyPhone.
Set both microphone volume control and speaker volume control just high enough to have a normal conversation.
Here's how:
1. Go to the lower-left part of your computer and click START.
2. Choose SETTINGS in the pop-up menu.
3. Then choose CONTROL PANEL
4. Double click the "Sound & Multimedia" icon (yellow megaphone).
Under the "Audio" tab, you will see 2 volume controllers: one for the sound playback, and the other is for sound recording. Adjust both to the lowest, suitable audio level, or just low enough to have an ear-friendly conversation.
23. I don't know how to install the EasyPhone software. Is there a readily available installation guide?
Yes. From your EasyPhone installer CD, there is a step-by-step guide on how to install the software.
24. I lost my CD installer. Do you have a website where I can download the software?
No, but you may order the EasyPhone software at our website
25. How can I eliminate the echo on my end?
You can adjust the speaker & microphone volume on your computer.
Use the Audio settings on the EasyPhone menu, or;
Go to the lower-left corner of your computer. On the toolbar, click Start, and then Settings.
Under Settings, click Control Panel.
On the Control Panel menu, look for the Sound and Multimedia / Audio Devices icon (this looks like a yellow megaphone) and double click.
Under Audio tab, click Advanced for the Sound Playback and Sound Recording panels
26. The call is connected, but the audio keeps breaking up.
The sources of the problem may be:
Congestion on the Internet. If your access to other websites is slow, this is most likely the cause. Ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to resolve this problem.
27. The call is connected, but I cannot hear the person at the other end. Why is that? What should I do?
You can't hear the person on the other end because you might have a defective headset or speakers, or there could be a problem on the other calling party's microphone volume setting. Try the following:
Adjust the speaker volume. (There are arrows next to the speaker icon to increase or decrease the volume)
The other calling party should check his / her microphone volume setting.
If you are using a router or firewall, see the router-related questions on
28. The call is connected, but the person at the other end cannot hear me.
Check that you have a sound card, and either a microphone or headset/microphone combination.
Adjust your microphone volume.
29. There is delay when speaking.
The delay maybe caused by congestion on your Internet connection.
Make your calls during off-peak Internet usage times (varies depending on your ISP) or you can try another ISP.
30. What is the sound quality of EasyPhone calls?
EasyPhone calls have high-quality sound. It is like making international phone calls on a regular home phone. But this sound quality may vary depending on the kind of connection you have to the Internet--whether you're using dialup or broadband. Another factor is the congestion level of your Internet access; this is dependent on the bandwidth available from your ISP at the time of your call.
31. The call is connected, the voice quality from the party I'm calling is clear, but he complains that his voice echoes back to him.
Both you and the party you're calling can try the following solutions:
Check if the volume on either microphone is set to boost. If yes, disable this option.
Lower the microphone volume.
Use a less sensitive microphone.
You can also adjust your microphone to mute while the other person is talking.
Both parties may purchase a noise-cancellation headset in computer stores, online at the IPC Communication Website.
32. The voice gets choppy during the call. Sometimes, it's even cut off.
The voice gets choppy or is cut off due to high Internet traffic usage on the side of the network or ISP, or there might be too many programs running on your computer while you're using EasyPhone. You can:
Call your ISP and ask them to check your bandwidth rate, which should be 56kbps.
Turn off other programs running on your computer.
Schedule your call during off-peak Internet hours. You can ask your ISP for this information.
